5 Ways to Entertain Kids with the Kindle Fire This Summer

Kindle

School’s out and you’re now faced with keeping your children entertained for the next 2-3 months. If you have a Kindle Fire in your home, this is actually quite easy to do. The Kindle Fire is not only a great eReader, but it has so many great features. Here are just five ways to entertain kids with the Kindle Fire this summer.

Picture Books and Books for Older Kids

There are almost 2 million Kindle books available on Amazon. If you’re a Kindle Fire owner, you can find many picture books for children. These books are so colorful and come to life beautifully on the screen. This is a wonderful way to keep children entertained as you get stuff done around the house. If your children are older, there are also a number of wonderful chapter and young adult books to choose from. To encourage your children to read even more, start your own reading program. For example, for every book read, the child could win a small prize. If they read 25 books, they could win a big prize.

Games

The Kindle Fire offers a number of great games for kids to play. Many of the games for smaller kids are educational, but designed in a way that your children won’t realize they’re learning over the summer. There are also games for older children, such as puzzle and action games. Best of all, there are a number of free games to download on your Kindle Fire.

Apps

Games aren’t the only way to pass the time this summer. The Kindle Fire also offers many great apps. Whether it’s a piano for children to play with or a drawing pad app, there are many apps to keep your children entertained this summer.

Movies and TV Shows

One of the best things about the Kindle Fire is the ability to watch TV shows and movies. If you’re a Prime member, your children can enjoy hundreds of free movies and TV shows. You can also download the Netflix and Hulu Plus apps for even more great TV and movie viewing options.

Music

Last, but not least, the Kindle Fire can also be used to listen to music. You can upload your children’s favorite MP3s to the Amazon Cloud or you can download free music apps, such as Pandora.

The Kindle Fire is an excellent way to keep kids entertained this summer. However, if you have more than one child, you may want to invest in a Kindle Fire for each child. The expense is well worth it to help you maintain your sanity this summer.
